Felt that I should get a few more of my recent photos on the blog, so here goes.

Meghan at church on Easter.

Thomas and Gail at the Easter diner at Jackie's and Art's.

Judy and her brother's grand daughter. (About 6 months and yes she was born with just about that much hair.)

My Second Sleep Test

On Wednesday I went back to the sleep lab for another wonderful night with Nurse Cindy. She tried on three different sleep masks with what is called the C-PAP machine. None were very comfortable, but one was less uncomfortable than the others. The sleep doctor will call Boone Drug, my regular pharmacy, and set up an appointment to get me the machine. After I sleep with the machine for 30 days I will go in and talk to my doctor about it to see where we stand.

I don't like the idea of doing this at all, but if it will make me more alert and keep me from falling asleep at the wheel it will be worthwhile.

Bad times at Va Tech

It's very disturbing to see the news from Va Tech today. So many lives wasted, and for what? We don't ever know yet, but its just a waste regardless.

It's even upsetting to me to see some of the reactions of some of the parents. A couple from Lovettsville were on one of the news webb pages, and said that it was the responsibility of the University president and the police chief, and they wanted both of them fired. Must be one of the "helicopter parents" that I read about, that get daily (or more so) phone calls from their children. Then they place calls to their professors, or Deans, or school president, to complain about a test or an assignment for their child. They probably travel to the school every time their child needs their nose blown. The only reason that this set of parents did not go down to Blacksburg was because their daughter could not get a motel room for them. (All were booked and the road were all clogged with other parents going there.) Now, with 26,000 students, that's really going to help the situation.

Dad's Movie Poster

O.K. lets just say (hypothetically of course) that Dad was going to paint a sign for a theater promotion that mentioned the outlaw Jesse James. I wounder just how he would spell it. Maybe it would look something like this.

Easter at Jackie's and Art's

Everyone gathered at Jackie's and Art's this year for Easter. We had the ham and also some good chicken that Art did on the grill. Even Marshall and Diane showed up. Meghan of course was happy with that. She spent most of her time though in the back room watching a DVD on her little portable. Mother went to church at St. Mary's with Elizabeth, Meghan and John. I showed up there also after going to the 6:15 at the Church of the Resurrection. Since I also went to the vigil at midnight, I had an excuse (as if I needed one) to fall asleep after dinner. Some photos from Easter:

What my sleep mask might look like!

It isn't clear to me yet if I really suffer from apnea or the ol' Jessee get-up-and-set-down-to-think-about-it syndrome, as Elizabeth says. But if I do, here is the lovely rig I may have to wear.

It looks like some of those guys at the bar room scene in the original Star Wars.

Come to think of it, it looks a bit like this:

The image “http://www.hollywoodcostumesandparty.com/morris/ar404.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

An Alien life form sucking the breath out of you - or implanting some kind of disgusting larva down your throat.

But I guess it would beat falling asleep at the wheel coming down the mountain at 65 mph.

GRJ1984

Yes, you got through. It went up as a comment on one of the posts below. Good going!

I took the sleep test last night

And everyone will be relieved to know that I passed! I fell asleep faster then anyone. The nurse was impressed because most normal people have trouble falling asleep in a strange room with all those wires glued to them. My nurse practitioner had set me up with the Piedmont Sleep Clinic for the test since she thought I might have sleep apnea. Something Mother had said on our last visit made me go in and suggest that. Dad may have had it. If he did it would explain a lot about how he acted those last few decades of his life. I was beginning to remind myself a little too much of that!

The worst thing though was that I am beginning to fall asleep at the wheel and drifting all over the road. When Laura is with me she just whacks me in the chest and yells "That's it Buddy! You're grounded!" And I let her drive. If she is not in the car with me it gets more interesting.

If you are interested in how it went you can read this and this.

Now - what have you all been doing? Don't be shy about leaving posts here on the Jessee page.
