Bad times at Va Tech

It's very disturbing to see the news from Va Tech today. So many lives wasted, and for what? We don't ever know yet, but its just a waste regardless.

It's even upsetting to me to see some of the reactions of some of the parents. A couple from Lovettsville were on one of the news webb pages, and said that it was the responsibility of the University president and the police chief, and they wanted both of them fired. Must be one of the "helicopter parents" that I read about, that get daily (or more so) phone calls from their children. Then they place calls to their professors, or Deans, or school president, to complain about a test or an assignment for their child. They probably travel to the school every time their child needs their nose blown. The only reason that this set of parents did not go down to Blacksburg was because their daughter could not get a motel room for them. (All were booked and the road were all clogged with other parents going there.) Now, with 26,000 students, that's really going to help the situation.
