Belly Dance Hafla & Bazaar #2

Here are some pictures of a few other dancers.

The dancer with the veil fans is my instructor,
Sandi Silverman. Her stage name is Samira.

There were a variety of dance styles, from
sword dancers to Tribal dancers.

Belly Dance Hafla & Bazaar

On Wednesday night (24th of June),
a girlfriend and I danced at the Hafla
which means 'party' here in Lakeland.

Marlene and I danced to an old
Bob Hope & Bing Crosby song -
"Road to Morocco".

We had a blast!!!! We made our
costumes especially for this song.

House Update

We're still working on it but I thought I'd post a picture to keep everybody updated. As you can see the outside is pretty much done. I didn't get much say in the design but I'm guessing you already knew that. I'll post some of the inside as we finish. Enjoy!

Mother's Trip to Ybor City

I talked Mother into going into Ybor City to the HCC Preforming Arts Center to see Rosa Rio. She is the 107 year old piano and organ player that now lives in Sun City. Mother enjoyed it so much. It was part of the Music Symposium put on by the Artists and Writers Group in Tampa. Paul Wilborn was playing old 30"s and 40's music and talking about their lyrics. His wife Eugenre Bondurant also sang some of the songs. Then Rosa Rio came up to play. She was marvelous and had quite a sense of humor. We took the "short cut" home and drove through Ybor and the Channelside area to look around. Mother really had a good time and was happy that she went.

A photo of me and Mother at the event.

A photo of Mother and Rosa Rio before the show.

Trip to the beach

I picked up Mother this morning and took her over to the Grand Shores for a day out. Jackie, Art, Elizabeth and Meghan along with our friends Linda Sue, Susie and James, and their daughter Olivia were all over there for the week. Jackie had lunch for use and we got to visit with everyone. It was very hot with no rain even in the afternoon. Here are a few photos from the trip. First Jackie and Art.

Then a couple of photos of Meghan and Olivia playing in the waves. (There was a good breeze today.)

James took both of the girls out on a kayak and here is Meghan's trip.

He also took his wife Susie out and they had an "accident" when they came back in.

Modern design stuff

A friend of mine at work was looking for some design ideas for her new house and found this web site http://www.trendir.com/ She and I both like contemporary designs.
It has the coolest houses on it.
I'm sure Jenifer has seen it at some time. I love it.

Also, just got back from Decatur GA for a library administrator class.
Hope I can see everybody soon.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THOMAS!!!!

Today is Thomas Lee's birthday - June 1. The Happy Gemini! Is that a contradictory statement? Don't ask me how old, I stopped counting other's birthdays when I stopped counting mine. But happy, happy birthday....may the traffic flow smoothly during your birthday week.
