Memorial for Gail's Mother Doris

We went over to Lakeland today for the memorial service for Gail's Mother. I took a few photos and want to post a couple of them here.

Tom Jessee?

Actually this is just an update since we haven't posted for awhile. I am not even doing very well at posting on Not Mayberry. But I was doing a google image search for 'Jessee' and got some interesting results. Did anyone know that there is a Tom Jessee who is the women's basketball coach at the University of Tampa? In the picture he doesn't look anything like any of the Jessees I know.

There is also a lot of stuff on the Jessee family of Russell Co. Virginia, but I am assuming that Blaine knows all about it, and has already contacted all the people involved.

Anyway - not all that much has been going on here. We will be leaving for Tampa on the 8th and will stay for a week. I hope Jenifer will still be in town. We want to know all about the trip to Finland and all about the coming trip to Argentina. One of the magazines we read rated it as a vacationer's bargain. But that was before jet fuel went up so high.

Meghan's bowling party

Well they had another birthday party for Meghan. I thought that it was the third party for this birthday, but was told that it was the forth. Wow! I don't remember having that many partys for my birthdays when I was her age. Well Jackie seems to think that she can't take good photos, but some of hers turn out very well. The way that you make people think that you take good photos is to never show anyone your bad ones. So here are some of mine of the party.

Box Tops for Education

Every year Meghan's school collects these box tops (small pink Box Tops sign with a yellow "education" pencil). I thought I would send out a post and ask everyone to look for them on the packages you buy from the grocery store - General Mills/Betty Crocker. I'm sure everyone will see them on something they have. If you don't mind, and are not saving them for someone else, would you start putting them aside in a little baggie for Meghan. It's amazing how they add up.

Bowling

For those family members in town that would like to attend, Meghan is having a bowling birthday party for her friends. It will be Saturday (July 12) from 11:30-1:30. Let me know if you want to come or just stop by. She will have about 9 friends.
