Strange food - Or rather drinks as the case may be

Every now and then I see something in the food store that strikes me as a little strange. About a year ago it was Chelata - Bud with Clamato juice in it. This goes back to the original clamato juice which I was surprised to see about 20 years ago. (One of my bosses got one by mistake when he thought it was tomato juice.) Now I saw in the store today "Chocovine" - "the taste of Dutch Chocolate and fine red wine." Wow!

Since this is a fairly unusual occurrence, I thought that I would post it. (Jackie is doing a fairly good job with her camera though.) We were moving the church items last week and I had someone take a photo of me, sweat and all. This was out at the storage unit. (Am I starting to look more and more like Dad?)

Cousins

Teddi was up to Tampa on Saturday to take Dimitri and Adam to a youth sports fest at St. John's Greek Church. We were able to see them for a few minutes, and I took this photo of Meghan with her second cousins.

Laura is visiting Tampa

Laura arrived in Tampa yesterday evening. This morning she took her sister Diana over to the hospital for the surgery. Everything went well and she should be released from the hospital on Wednesday. She will be recuperating with Laura's help for about three weeks. Laura will probably have to wait until next week to try to see Mother. Now that Mother seems to be up and about, even going to the beach, I think they may be able to get out to some place other than Steak N Shake. But I could be wrong.

As for me and Leo, we are having a wonderful time. Even though life is a living hell without Laura. And the fact that I have to walk that silly dog twice a day. And feed him. And clean out the cats litter box. And iron my own shirts. And cook. Actually, that last is fun. I've always liked to cook - or at least since I sat down for an hour or so with a nutritionist when I discovered I had high cholesterol.

Mother makes a trip to the beach

Mother got out today and made a trip over to the beach. Jackie and Art, Elizabeth and Meghan, and Linda Sue and her grand daughter Olivia are over there for the week, and Jenifer and I drove Mother over for the day. She seemed to have a good time and didn't seem all that worn out from the outing. It was very hot, but the humidity was down. Meghan and Olivia were "best buds" and spent a lot of time in the pool.
