And Maggie's birthday

Maggie had her birthday a few weeks ago and is now NINE. Hard to believe. She had a party of her friends, it was a sleep-over as Meghan would say. Laura and I went and had a good time. Later in the week I took Maggie out to dinner since she is so grown up. I asked her where she wanted to go.

Applebee's!!!

What do you want to eat?

Mac-n-Cheese!!!

Pretty predictable. She is a connoisseur of mac-n-cheese and assures me that Applebee's is one of the best. I had a steak and a mojito. Also predictable (steak, so-so; mojito, great!). We played twelve rounds of tic-tac-toe while we ate. It was fun.

Mickey's birthday epic

Here is the first two pages of a six page comic strip I did for Mickey's fourth birthday. Page one is on the bottom. It is a story his mother Mary wrote about their real adventures with friend Sue who injured her eye. To keep the boy distracted while they waited hours at Wal-Mart (worst service ever) she converted their day into a fairy tale of the Brave Sir Mickey (and Bob, the Horse).

I took the story and illustrated it as a comic book. I think he liked it. If you can, go over to the Quigley page and see the whole thing. I may try to put it up on my Not Mayberry blog.

BTW, here is a report from Mary regarding the actual birthday itself!

First thing this morning:
Martin: Happy birthday, Mickey!
Mary: Happy birthday little man!
Mickey: I'm FOUR!! Where are my presents?

A kid after my own heart.

An Easter Photo

Here's an Easter photo from last year.......no, wait a minute, it seems to be from farther back than that. Gee, I think that's up in McLean. Seems to be my sisters, Jackie and Elizabeth.
