Cheerleading

Well Meghan has joined the ranks of Pee Wee Football Cheerleading. It's been quite an eye opener. It is a big investment - money wise and time wise but so far she seems to really enjoy it. We will have to see after the games start and she has to stand out there and cheer in the heat. Her games will either be Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. I'm not sure which time I am going to dread the most - early or hot. Practices have been every day last week and this week from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Then next week they will be Mon/Tues/Thur from 6-8 with the games on Sat. - 1st game will be 8/12. The games last until 10/28 unless the are in the playoffs. Cheeroffs are 11/4 and then there are 2-3 competitions for the cheerleaders. Once she gets her uniform, I will take some pictures for all to see. She catches on to the cheers fast and is very good - I know, I know - I'm her mom - but it's true - really!

Our weekend with Maggie

I know everyone was just dying for this, so here is the latest link to notmayberry.com for a story about Miss Maggie, or 'Madam' as her parents call her.

Question?

Did Mother ever find out when Alice Steele's big 100th birthday party will be? If it is later, after we get back from Tampa, we may be able to go, since Mother says that the Jessee family is expressly invited!

Our trip to Tampa

Now that we have missed almost everyone's birthday, Laura and I will be coming to Tampa. We will try to leave on 6 Aug and arrive the next day, the 7th. We'll stay for a week or so. Jenifer - will you still be in town?

We intend to take las dos Madres over to Steak and Shake for their birthday meals, or any place else they might suggest. They certainly a cheap date.

Does anyone know how to e-mail John and Karen? I e-mailed them with the addresses I had, but I don't think the messages went through. In any case I've seen no sign of them on the blog. Do they even know it exits?

Birthday Pictures

Here are some pictures from Meghan's birthday parties. The cake picture is what Jenifer made for Meghan's family celebration. It was delicious (as always). The other is Meghan and her 5 friends that went to Pottery in the Park. The had chocolate chip muffins and vanilla ice cream for that celebration. I think Meghan is a true Case Girl they way she loves her chocolate (just like her Mema).

MaRS HaLL

These are some of the pictures we took at Haleakala National Park. It's a volcanic crater. These pictures don't even look like Hawaii! It reminds me of Mars from Total Recall.

Hope you liked these! I'll see what else we have. Take care!

Today is a Birthday . . .

Meghan, This is the song my Mother sings for our birthdays:

Today is a birthday;
I wonder for whom.
I know it's for someone
Who is right in that room.
So look all aound you
For somebody who
Is smiling and happy-
My goodness is YOU!

Happy birthday, Meghan!
From all of us to you.
Happy birthday, Meghan!
From Scotty and Laura and Leo and the cats, too!
We congratulate you and pray good luck follows you.
Happy birthday, Meghan!
May all of your good dreams come true.

Have a wonderful day.
Love,
Laura

Happy Belated - and Premature Birthdays!!

I seem to have missed everyone's birthday for most of the summer, and since I have the list now I'd better get to all of them before I forget.

So - happy birthday to Blaine, even though it is several months late, and to Judy.
Ditto for Tom, and Marshall.

And just to be the first, happy birthday to Jaque, and Jenifer, sometime in the future.

I will have to go over to the Credit Union to get all the savings bonds at one time (in case Marshall is wondering why he hasn't got one yet).

And thanks to Elizabeth for sending us the picture of Meghan at the recital. I thought you would put them on the blog. And Marshall, are there more pictures of Hawaii coming?
