Easter Sunday

OK, here are a few photos from my collection of Easter Sunday.

This first photo has Judy at the "sunrise" service and everyone with their candle. Of course this was before sunrise. We got out to the church around six AM.

This is of Elizabeth and Meghan at their morning service. (Ten AM - A more reasonable time and with the sun shining outside.

This is one of Mother and Meghan after church. Of course Meghan did her very best not to smile. And a good job of it at that.

Here is a photo of Easter Dinner over at Jackie's and Art's. Elizabeth looks like she is explaining something very important to Thomas.

And of course some photos of the Food.

Argentina

Go to www.nationalgeographic.com and in the upper right is article on Argentina. That's where our traveler Jen goes next.

Just forget about video from me. I give up!

Saint Patrick's Day at Church

Went out to the dinner for Saint Patrick's Day at Church this past Saturday. Since I don't have all that many photos of me to post, I thought that I would put this one up that someone took of me. "The Rat in the Hat" or something like that.

By the way ...

Does anyone have any quarters representing the states Arkansas, Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, or New Mexico? I'll explain later.

Back from Iberia

Better known as Portugal and Spain. We got in very late on Sunday. Fortunately I did not have to be at school until 3:30 Monday and had made arrangements for the class to go to the library for a session with the librarian. So all I had to do was set there and appear to be awake. A very good thing because I had in effect been up 24 hours or more the day before. I have put one or two notices on Not Mayberry and will try to put more of my travel journal up as the week goes by. If I can get my friend Curtis to help me I may be able to get some of the pictures Joey sent us put up here (or there).

We both had a great time and enjoyed touring around with the kids. Joey's Spanish is getting pretty good. In Portugal a great many people spoke English! And are not at all shy about using it. There are strong historical ties between Portugal and England going back to the 1140s - and Europeans believe in tradition.

More later.

Paint you heart out

OK. A couple of photos to show that I was at Paint you Heart Out this past week end. These were taken by James the fellow from King in charge of out group. The first one both Judy and I think looks like Dad. The other was taken at the party where I switched to better hat for being out in the sun.

Artworks in Saint Petersburg

O.K. this is not much of a family blog item, but I think it has some nice photos of the art that I saw yesterday. I was coming back from "Paint your Heart Out" in Clearwater and was driving into an office complex as you approach the bridge to look for some fire department connections (don't ask, but if you must know it was for an example for some work we are doing over in Largo). The Raymond James offices are in there and as you drive in there is a large statue of an Indian on a horse holding a buffalo skull. On further examination they have a large number of statues in the open area around the office and parking garages that I stopped and took some photos of. Most but not all are Western theme and mostly native Americans done by a John Coleman. Here are a few.

This one and I think some of the others has some painting done on them.

If you look closely at this one, you can see a metal on his chest which is the one that Lewis and Clark took on their expedition to give to native American leaders. It is shown on the back of some of the commemorative nickles.
