Events

Meghan & I went to Teco's Big Bend Manatee Viewing Station Fri a.m.
Notice the "lovely scenery" above the manatee pool!
She even stood with me and the "manatee". It was a big deal for her to actually get near the thing. The "manatee"'s bodyguard took the picture.
As you can see, she has finally conquered her hand stand and proud of it.
I have pics of Martin, Barbara & Case but I thought Blaine would be posting his.

Christmas 2007

The sky was taken this morning when I went out to pickup paper...I slept in a bit and it was already 6:45!

Hopefully I will learn how to arrange the pictures and what I type in some better placement.
Karen asked if I would post Tomas' address. John Paul is to be born on Daddy's birthday but she went to hospital today so perhaps sooner.
(while typing this the sky picture disappeared)
Tom & Gigi DeSaulniers

Tibbie, AL (I forgot to get zip but will try to find)

Photos of Saint Louis

Just in time for Christmas I will post some of the photos that I took up at Saint Louis when I went to get Jenifer last week.

A photo of me and Jenifer at dinner after she picked me up from the bus. One of her friends took it at a Vietnamese restaurant that we met them at.

An early morning photo of the area across the street from Jenifer's apartment that she moved out of. Notice the snow that was still on the ground when I was there.

Jenifer's apartment building. She was on the third floor in the rear. There is a laundry on the ground floor and another business next to it on the other side of the entrance to the stairways.

The main building at Washington University in St. Louis with a snow man out front.

A sunset on the trip back home.

Scott's List for Christmas

Nothing too expensive this year! Unless you want to make a large donation to our favorite charity: Doctors' Without Borders.

Drink:
Nice brandy
Imported beers (any will do - I tend to like dark beers)
red wine (esp cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, pinot noir)

Pen stuff:
Signo gel pens by Uniball
fountain pen ink in bottles - any color
cheap (or expensive) fountain pens

Writing stuff:
Correspondence cards
legal pads
note books

Gift certificates would also be fine, though it would be nice to be surprised by your own choices.

Laura's wish list for Christmas

This is mostly a cut-N-paste from last year, but a bag for Laura's knitting would be nice.

Otherwise:

PJ's would be good- Petite Medium.

Could use a hat- navy blue or black- I've been borrowing Scotty's knit cap, but it makes me look like the Hamburglar.

Non-cold weather stuff I've had my eye on would be: a couple of cookbooks (Margaret Fox's 'Morning Food' and Mark Bittman's 'How to Cook Everything');

some products from Bath and Body works aromatherapy collection- the orange ginger fragrance is my favorite;

Elizabeth's (short) List

Well, I always feel bad because I can't think of anything to put that I want. I did tell Jackie and mother that I wanted a really good (large 16-20oz) travel mug that would keep my coffee warm until I get to work (about 30 mins). But whoever got my name better check with them first. And I like Dunkin Donut coffee - they sell it (also like their donuts).

Also, I want a corkscrew that John keeps talking about. I don't know what kind or anything about it, but he always is telling me I need one like this certain kind....my name drawer will have to ask John if you want to get me that.

And, as long as it's a wish list, there is a Microfiber Save Your Back Bag that is a shoulder bag that converts to a backpack. That would be nice in brown. But this costs alot and I just went on the website for Norm Thompson and they don't have brown (even in the $99 leather).

Oh, just thought of something for Meghan's list but will put that under her comments. This one I really like for her.

A wall calendar is always good.

Jen's Christmas List

I needed an excuse to take a break from studio so I thought I'd post my list.

long underwear (S top, M bottom)
solid black scarf and gloves
wool socks

Under the Blacklight, Rilo Kiley
Oh You’re So Silent Jens, Jens Lekman
Fantastic Playroom, New Young Pony Club

Design Like You Give a Damn, Architecture for Humanity

It's getting down to the wire so I hope more people post their lists soon. I still don't know what insert name here wants so if you don't want a WashU t-shirt for Christmas, I'd get to it.

Love you all, Jen

Christmas Wish Lists

Following Elizabeth's posting of Meghan's list I thought perhaps it would be an idea that all of us post a "wish list" to help those that got our names in the exchange. This way we might get something we can use. I'd like a short sleeve long lightweight nightgown and don't care about color. Art says he doesn't know anything about picking out a women's nightgown.

Maggie and friends on CNN

Our friend Maggie is still waiting for her brother to be released from Vietnam by the US government. Martin is still over there with little Micky. On Tuesday Mary will fly over to give Martin a chance to come home so he can get back to work. We are going to be taking care of Maggie for four days. It should be fun. What could go wrong?

There are other couples who are in the same fix as Maggie's family. One of them who the Quigley's got to know while they are over there have been on CNN. You can watch the TV spot here. Right in the middle of it is a still shot of the Quigley family and a few others. It is not a very flattering shot of Maggie but I guess they had to go with what they have.

You will notice the explanation of what the US government is concerned about. Since in Micky's case they have been handed multiple documents covering the point of concern, I am coming to believe that the government just wants to punish people for dealing with the Vietnamese government. But perhaps I am a bit too cynical.
